On the first day of K-Christmas, K-Pop gave to me
One Epic Comeback
Two Sets of Twins
You had to see this coming, it’s the second day of the K-Christmas season, what better day to celebrate two of the most talented sets of twins? Both of these super talented and adorable sets of twins had a big year this year, one set launched a sub-unit and the other’s group seems to have finally found a style that suits them! Of course, we’re talking about Crayon Pop / Strawberry Milk‘s Choa and Way and Boyfriend‘s Kwangmin and Youngmin! Ah these two sets of siblings have done very well this year for themselves and for their fans. To lead off, let’s be polite and talk about the ladies first.
Choa and Way
The lovely girls of Crayon Pop have been very busy this year with a Crayon Pop comeback called “Uh Ee” that we talked about here and you can watch here, an adorable feature as actresses in label-mate Zan Zan‘s debut song “Chicken Feet“ that if you’ve not seen you have got to. Not only are the twins perfect in the story, the song is really good as well. Perhaps the crowning achievement for the adorable sisters was the successful debut of their sub-unit Strawberry Milk with the song “Ok“. The song is catchy and everything you could want an expect from these two. One of the things that makes Choa and Way such great twins is that they seem to have standards that they stick to no matter if it’s while they’re part of Crayon Pop or on their own in Strawberry Milk. There’s no concern about their popularity being built on super sexy concepts, they are genuinely talented and unique artists! Check out ‘Ok’ if you’ve not already!
Kwangmin and Youngmin
Oh Boyfriend twins. Boyfriend has been an adorable group since their debut, though they have been hinting at darker side since ‘Janus‘ was released all the way back in 2012. Something fantastic happened this year, Boyfriend grew up, releasing several new and amazing songs. Starting with ‘Obsession‘ back in June, following through with ‘Witch‘ in October it feels like Boyfriend, and Kwangmin and Youngmin by extension, have matured in to men. There were some fans that were concerned with the slightly darker vibe to these videos but in November a little video slipped out of the Boyfriend camp called “White Out” that should put all of those fears to rest. If you’ve not seen it (and judging by the view count, you probably haven’t) please take a few minutes to appreciate these guys and their group-mates doing what they do best: singing and looking amazing. Not to spoil it, but you’re in for some buttery soft vocals so get ready.
After today, I’m sure you have a better appreciation for the two sets of K-Pop twins! Were you familiar with these songs or are they new to you? What did you think of them? Were there any twins you wish we’d chosen for today? Let us know in the comments!
