On the 8th day of K-Christmas, K-Pop gave to me
8 Clean Shiny Debuts
7 Perfect Comebacks,
6 Groups That Rocked Their Niche,
5 Awesome Videos,
4 Sexy Concepts,
3 Glorious Maknaes,
2 Sets of Twins,
And One Epic Comeback!
Debuts are the best/worst thing about K-Pop. There are so many it can be easy to overlook some of the best so we found 8 that we really loved and we think it would be a crime to miss. There aren’t solo debuts on this list because they’ll get their chance to shine soon enough. Not much discussion here, you need to make your own opinions!
WINNER
We may have waited what felt like forever for it, but WINNER was worth it. Their debut song ‘Empty‘ is one of the best of the year though it is by no means the only good song on their album.
GOT7
The first song by GOT7 really grabbed the attention of K-Pop fans and each song they’ve released has done the same. These boys seem to be on a trajectory to fame.
KISS&CRY
This is one of those debut groups that breaks your heart. Though technically still together, one member has already left/quit, leaving one of the strongest rookie girl groups of the year with their future up in the air.
WINGS
Another powerhouse girl-group, WINGS is a duo that seems to embrace a little bit of a darker theme with their songs. Their debut ‘Hair Short‘ is one of the most talked about videos of the year.
TROY
TROY is the dream group out of Brand New Music that features some already well-respected and insanely talented rappers like Bumkey and Kanto. Their debut ‘Greenlight‘ really got people talking and set them up for great things.
BIGFLO
This is a group that popped up at the perfect time. They have a sound that makes some of the staff here say that they do an already famous group’s signature sound better than they do.
JJCC
Though some people didn’t take this group seriously due to not knowing Jackie Chan‘s musical background, this group has a sound and a look that puts them right in line to be insanely popular.
HA:TFELT
That whole thing about no solo debuts doesn’t apply to HA:TFELT. We all know Wonder Girls is pretty much dead. This is such a good song, it’s been used to lure non-K-Poppers to our side.
Were there any groups you think we should’ve mentioned? Let us know in the comments!
