Even though BIGBANG‘s Seungri has been active as an actor in Japan, starring in NTV Special Drama “Kindaichi Case Files,” he has never appeared in any Korean productions. But this is about to change very soon!
The group’s maknae will appear in SBS‘ upcoming drama titled “Angel Eyes” (working title), alongside his labelmate, Ku Hye Sun.
YG Entertainment’s representative stated, “On February 27 Seungri participated in the first script reading, working together with other actors like Ku Hye Sun, Lee Sang Yoon and Kang Ha Neul. They ended the reading on a very good note.”
Seungri will play the role of a character named Teddy Seo, a Korean-American who returns to South Korea to become a paramedic. Raised by a grandmother from a region that speaks a particular dialect in Korea, he is teased when he speaks Texan English mixed with the dialect. He creates problems by crossing over the line, but, at the same time, he shows an unusual attachment to elderlies with dementia living by themselves.
“Angel Eyes” is a result of cooperation of producer Choi Mun Suk who directed “Only You” and “Will It Snow for Christmas?” and the scriptwriter Yoon Ji Ryun who stands behind “Boys Over Flowers” and “Prose Plan”. The drama will be aired in April as a follow-up of “The Woman Who Married Three Times.”
