On the 22nd of September, GOT7 released the short version of their music video for “Around The World“, their Japanese debut song. To our surprise, they actually went ahead to release a full version, which is not common for Japanese companies, but Epic Records Japan, which is the label that the group is signed under for their Japanese promotions, did and we couldn’t be happier.
This video lets us hear the entire song and at first listen, I didn’t really like it. But as I listened to it more, it actually grew on me. It doesn’t sound like J-Pop to me, which is what I was expecting. It definitely had GOT7’s signature style so I was pleasantly surprised. And upon closer inspection of their outfits, I realized they were covered in world maps. Very clever considering the song title.
The full version also includes individual shots of the members and a dub step dance break where JB, Mark, and Jackson brought out their awesome martial art tricking moves. I held my breath at those parts because I’m always afraid they’re going to hurt themselves.
After the song ends, the video cuts to a short message from GOT7 telling us that the official single album will be released on October 22nd.
