MR.MR is back with a brand new song and music video titled “Out.” I have to confess when I first heard the teaser I was not a fan. Don’t get me wrong, I love MR.MR they are one of my favorites, however I was not crazy about the teaser that was released. You can check out the full music video below:
So now that I have seen the full music video, I find that in fact some cases of my fears was completely founded. I talked to a friend who is a MR.MR fan as well and we had the same thoughts. I like how the song is kind of funky and fast, way different than the ballads we have been getting so far this time of the year.
I will give MR.MR this, there is no “beating around the bush” about what the guys want, so that is a good thing. The chorus is catchy and if you are not careful you find yourself singing it.
I need you love to hold me tight tonight.
Like this break it, take me alive yeah.
I cannot escape sexy love.
Please don’t stop. No way out.
Now comes the part were I tell you what I did not like about the music video. I did not like the rap sections. They felt awkward, somewhat forced and well, they completely ruined the flow of the song for me. Then there is the music video its’ self. Parts of the video were completely over-edited, while other parts felt like they had not been touched at all. Add some shaky and confusing camera work and you have this video.
However, I did like how no matter who your favorite is, he got some solo camera time. I also like how the video was all dancing and wasn’t silly and or strange. No confusing story line, just dancing. This group is pretty resistant; they are on their 3rd or 4th line up change and they are still here. You can also add to that some recent bad press, which you can read about here. I really like MR.MR and want these guys to come back stronger and better then ever. I am optimistic the year is still young and there is plenty of time left to push forward.
