On October 12th, NCT‘s rotational unit, NCT U released the MV for their title track, ‘Make A Wish (Birthday Song)’. The song comes off the full 23 member NCT lineup’s first part to their 2nd full album, ‘The 2nd Album Resonance Pt. 1’. Check out the MV down below!
NCT U ‘MAKE A WISH (BIRTHDAY SONG)’ MV:
Lyrically, the group preach people to make a wish, promising that they will be able to make them comes true. The pop-dance tune features a recurring whistle and synth along with sharp raps and beautiful vocal harmonies. The track highlights members Taeyong, Doyoung, Lucas, Jaemin, Jaehyun, Xiaojun and Shotaro.
Watching the MV, it is an open to the senses. The flashy sets that feature all the colours of the rainbow compliment the track’s various sections. Outfit wise, we see the group in one red and white street style attire, a sexier black look embellished with shiny sliver chains, and finally a variety of other mismatched but bright street outfits. Wearing these, we see snippets of choreography which emphasise the group’s charisma. The music video ends with the group covering themselves in individual red drapes, making them disappear. An outro also shows a purple butterfly appearing in the middle of the flower garden within a train carriage.
‘The 2nd Album Resonance Pt. 1‘ features a total of 13 tracks with all the members of NCT. New members Shotaro and Sungchan join the now 23 member lineup (comprised of those from all sub-units: NCT 127, NCT U, NCT Dream and WayV) through this album. This album will be followed up by a Part 2 later this year.
