Following the horrible car accident that befell on the K-pop group SECRET in the morning of December 11th, the group has announced to cancel all activities until December 28.
TS Entertainment revealed that the girls will be resting until December 27, in time for KBS “Gayo Festival 2012” on December 28.
SECRET has recently came back to the scene with “Talk That“, in high anticipation from fans. The excitement lies on a different image and concept showcased by SECRET and things were looking up in terms of music chart performance.
Unfortunately, the excitement was short lived as a car accident befell on the members on their way to Jamsil from Gimpo Airport on the Olympic Expressway, where the van carrying the members slipped on an icy patch, hit the guardrail and flipped into a ditch.
Members of SECRET were immediately hospitalized. Hyosung, Jieun and Sunhwa had minor injuries and were discharged, but Zinger fractured her ribs and had bruised lungs. The manager, who was the driver, suffered bruises in his cervical and lumbar spines without any fracture. He has been sent home along with other members of SECRET.
TS Entertainment stated, ““Doctors said that Zinger’s rib cage crack will fully heal in about two to three weeks. Hyosung is wearing a cast for her injured knee but we suspect that it will fully heal in time for the KBS festival. For now, we are working around the girls’ first comeback schedule being the KBS Gayo Festival.”
Industry representatives also expressed their concerns over the girls: “We’re all glad that the members weren’t gravely hurt. We’re sure that there isn’t anybody more disappointed with this accident than the girls themselves. They’ve made a successful transformation with ‘Talk That’, which was obviously the result of strenuous days of practice and work. We hope that all of them will recover fast and show us another great stage again.”
Fans took to Twitter to show their concern with hashtags #PrayForSecret #SecretStayStrong and #SecretFighting.
