SISTAR has decided that fans deserve another new song, video, and special album, and they’re making sure we’re eagerly anticipating it!
The next single, which is called “I Swear,” will be on a special album titled “Sweet and Sour“, which is set to be released on August 26th. SISTAR’s most recent release was the summer smash-hit “Touch My Body,” but it seems that they’re not the kind of idols to let one amazing song be what defines their year.
The sample of this song is quite different from “Touch My Body”, leading us here at Officially KMusic to wonder if this is what the song will actually sound like and if so, what genre will this be? They regularly will include a remixed sample of their songs instead of the actual version in their teasers, but even with “Touch My Body” there were elements that carried over to the actual song.
The video actually looks pretty adorable, assuming again this is a preview of the video’s content and not vaguely related like their last video teaser. I really like this style of video, the Instagram-styled shooting and filters make this kind of song and video feel more personal when they could easily feel fake.
There are already some comments comparing the song and video to 2NE1‘s song from last summer “Do You Love Me?,” but I really feel that’s not right. This style of video is a common thing, as is the basic song style, so saying this is copying the other is quite unfair and is the sort of thing that causes unneeded friction between fandoms. I think that this year has been hard enough for K-Pop fans without hunting up reasons to argue.
What did you think about the video? Are you a SISTAR fan? Are you as excited as we are for this next release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
