The minute long teaser for Sunny Hill‘s “Child In Time” promises a plot filled video, perhaps surrounding a love triangle including the heroine’s coworker and her mysterious phone contact. The video was lit to show off a dull and boring office life and the clothing is all standard business attire. In the video, the heroine is pushing paper, surrounded by an overbearing boss, a secretary giving her more work, her coworker who wants her attention and a text message that she simply must answer. It’s meant to show off a bland life but the music paints an entirely different story. The lead melody is played by what I’m fairly certain is an oboe (I had my last music class 9 years ago, don’t judge please), and is backed up by strings, piano, flute, clarinet and a xylophone. It all finishes off with chimes, leaving you with a very whimsical soundtrack, one that you would think would accompany a small child’s fairy tale story. I hope this music video does a childhood flashback motif, centered around the heroine and what lead her to this current point, and at the end she makes a choice about where she will proceed. It could also reasonably go the dream route since at the end of the video she falls asleep on the bus.
What do you think will happen in the full music video? Comment below with your ideas, but first be sure to watch the teaser!
