With the sudden passing of Ladies Code EunB, all Korean music fans are reminded how quickly unexpected things can happen.
Based on the current available information, EunB passed away due to the injuries sustained in the vehicle crash and the driver of the van has also died.
Fellow member Kwon Rise underwent 9 plus hours of surgery as a result of her injuries and is listed to be in the hospital ICU – Intensive Care Unit. Her family has reportedly flown in from Japan to be by her side.
Lee So Jung was also reported to be in serious condition as well. They will be transferred to a hospital is Seoul to receive further treatment.
The other two members Ashley and Zuny were also in the van along with their stylist and manger, but it is reported that they did not sustain major injuries. The group’s management company Polaris Entertainment has issued a statement.
“This is Polaris Entertainment.
We are letting you know the current situation concerning Ladies’ Code.
Last night, after completing their schedule in Daegu, the vehicle carrying Ladies’ Code ran into a problem of the rear wheel falling off while on the way back to Seoul, at around 1:30 AM in Suwon. Due to the wheel coming off on the rainy road, the vehicle spun several times before crashing into a guardrail. As a result, member EunB grievously passed away.
Currently, Rise is in critical condition and Sojung is receiving treatment for the injuries she sustained. The other members who were also in the vehicle with the manager and stylist have no serious injuries.
The members will be transferred from Suwon to a hospital in Seoul today, but the location of the wake has not yet been decided [for EunB].
Our company employees are currently in an immense state of shock and are experiencing unspeakable sadness at the moment.
We offer our words of apology to the fans, as well as everyone who must have received a great shock. We ask that a lot of people will pray with us for the members to recover quickly.
We will deliver further details as they are known. Thank you.”
Celebrities have been passing along messages of support and condolences to the members of Ladies Codes, family , and friends.
In the wake of this tragedy, some have begun to voice concern and outrage towards the managing companies and are calling for them to take better care of their artists. In October of last year 2AM‘s Jinwoon was in a car crash that resulted in him undergoing emergency surgery and staying in the hospital for a long period of recovery. Prior to this there was the crash that involved Super Junior, in this case Kyuhyun spent 5 months recovering. The group was coming home early in the morning from radio promotions. These are just a couple of similar accidents that fans are mentioning in the wake of this unfortunate situation.
Now is the time for all Korean music fans to join together, regardless of their fandoms and send thoughts and / or preys to those effected by this days events.
We here at Officially KMusic express our deepest condolences to Go Eun Bi’s family and friends, and as well towards the other members.
