On April 16th, ASTRO released the music video to their new title track, ‘Candy Sugar Pop’. The track comes accompanied with their 3rd full album, ‘Drive to a Starry Road’. Making their first comeback this year, this follows the equally mature yet bright single, ‘After Midnight’ in August last year. A note is this comeback will be the first as a quintet as main vocalist MJ recently enlisted into the military for his mandatory service.
The sextet continue their signature poppy string of lead singles with this new song. Its funky, tight and showcases the stable and high vocals from the members. Raps don’t feel heavy and blend well to give added flavour to the melody and main synth riff that solidifies itself in its chorus.
The music video similarly features the guys in casual dress ranging from jeans to vibrant suits. The MV ends us the group drive through a candy filled tunnel in space.
