On June 17th, girl group BRAVE GIRLS returned with their first comeback since the resurgence of their track ‘Rollin’ earlier this year. Now with new title track ‘Chi Mat Ba Ram’, the girls are ready to rule the summer. Self crowning themselves as the ‘summer queens’, their 5th mini album, ‘Summer Queen’ also dropped simultaneously.
Debuting in 2011, the group have gone through multiple lineup changes with the current members joining the group in 2016. On the verge of disbandment in March, their 2017 single, ‘Rollin’ gained huge traction from a YouTube video featuring the group’s performances in the military, which hilarious comments edited into the video of the soldier’s reactions. Reaching #1 on all Korean charts (achieving a Perfect All-Kill), the group resumed promotions. However soon after, their 2020 track, ‘We Ride’ also rode back up the charts, peaking at #4 on the Gaon Singles Chart. Now with their first comeback since their newfound popularity, pre-orders for the album soared to over 25,000. For context, the group’s previous mini album, back in 2017 sold a total of just over 1,000 copies.
