On February 3rd, GFRIEND released their MV for their title track ‘Crossroads’ and their 9th mini album, ‘回:LABYRINTH’. Check it out down below!
GFRIEND ‘CROSSROADS’ MV:
The MV continues the group’s story from all their previous MVs which were tied in with the video teaser ‘A Tale Of The Glass Bead: Previous Story’ which was released before this comeback. We first see Eunha touching a blue butterfly before it flies off and then she proceeds to fall off the edge of a building. Time rewinds and she’s back in her bed, awake. She opens a case with 3 more of those butterflies with one missing. Throughout the MV we see the members fight with each other, with Eunha and SinB, then with Yuju and Umji. Sowon and Yerin don’t fight but both are individually in deep sadness. This leads Sowon deciding to leave town, and Yerin trying to commit suicide by drowning herself in a bathtub.
At the end of the MV we see the members happily enjoying themselves around a bonfire while carrying flares around it. But, we get snippets of Eunha once again in 3 different outfits; These are reminiscent of the looks in previous MVs. But, now the surroundings of her are destroyed behind her, indicating that she may have used her time travel ability multiple times before to fix or prevent fighting within the group, and ultimately failed.
This is GFRIEND‘s first MV without any choreography, as they decided to focus more on the story line this time round. Furthermore, it is their first comeback after their company, Source Music became an indepdent subsidiary to Big Hit Entertainment (with artists like BTS and TXT).
