Leaving just about everyone heartbroken, ‘Scarlet Heart: Ryeo‘ had it’s finale just shy of a week ago. It left fans begging for a second season but IU‘s recent instagram update has fans questioning if it’s necessary.
In the finale, IU’s character is thrown back to the present but she remembers the events that took place in Gorryeo. Viewers last saw her character sobbing in front of a painting of King Wang So (Lee Joon Ki) and were left questioning what happened next. Well IU posted a photo of what happened with her character sitting on the floor in tears when a handkerchief is offered to her. Underneath the caption states ‘hm? handkerchief?‘ with a moon and heart emoji symbolizing Moonlovers. K-Drama fans know that in most historical dramas where time travel is involved, the lover from the past comes back in a new form in the present. Fans have been speculating it’s Lee Joon Ki’s future character who’s with her.
Could there possibly be a special episode, or perhaps it was an unaired final scene that never made it? Either way, fans are begging for answers and ‘Scarlet Heart: Ryeo’ is definitely not going away anytime soon!
