There was a lot of talks about this new upcoming Nickelodeon‘s show based on Kpop. The teasers are out and we can finally see what this show will be all about.
Megan Lee (Lee Hyerin) took the main role in this new show. After she left her career in Korea filling the lawsuit for termination of her 5 year-long contract with Soul Shop, Kim Taewoo‘s (g.o.d) agency, in November 2014, she came back to United States to continue her career there.
“Make it Pop” is a show based on pop music, Nick Cannon and Thomas W. Lynch as co-creators and executive producers, the show will focus on three teenagers at a boarding school who bonds over music and eventually band together to create a K-pop inspired band.
They summarize the show as; “What do an aspiring pop diva, a fashionista and a book worm have in common? Music! After being randomly selected to room together at Mackendrick Prep, Sun Hi, Jodi and Corki must learn to live together in harmony… literally. Can they achieve pop stardom in a school where academics come first and the arts come last? How will these rising stars balance music, grades, relationship and crushes? There’s only one way to find out! Get ready for fun, drama, and musical comedy with a K-pop twist and an EDM beat!”
Megan Lee will take the role of Sun Hi, a student who is an expert at using social media, Louriza Tronco will play Jodi, Sun Hi’s fashionable roommate, and Erika Tham as the bookish classmate.
Now check out the two teasers:
As a hard-core Kpop fan this seems too childish to me, but it is okay because this is the show for 8-12 age group. Even though I am not sure how will they put actual KPop songs in this show. I don’t know if you know this Mexican TV series “Rebelde”, this kind of remind me of that, note…, kind of.
We will wait and see if this show is he next big hit. We wish all the luck to Megan Lee. The show will air it’s pilot episode in April.
Officially KMusic brings you all the latest news from Kpop, so stay tuned with us.
