December 2013, Skull & Haha‘s First Showcase in Malaysia was held on the 21st at KL-LIVE, Life Centre Kuala Lumpur and organized by LEAP IMS. Ha Dong Hoon aka Haha, made his breakout through a Korean variety show, Running Man and Infinite Challenge. While Skull was signed in the United States under Morgan Carey, Mariah Carey‘s brother, with his distinctive interpretation of the music genre that first developed in Jamaica. The Reggae duo brought their unique blend of Korean reggae music and high-energy performance to celebrate Christmas and New Year with their fans.

Even though in the evening of their showcase Kuala Lumpur was burdened by heavy rain, it didn’t stop Haha and Skull’s fans coming and supporting them. The showcase started with a 15-20 minute performance by DJ IT, who did a fantastic job on arranging the mood that hyped up the atmosphere with his upbeat songs and getting the audience into the reggae mood.

Which after that Haha and Skull kicked off their showcase with ‘REGGAErilla‘ and got the crowd cheering, singing and waving their hands along to their energetic performance. A surprise guest made his appearance rapping during the second song ‘Big UP‘, NUOL, a well-known hip hop and reggae producer who also produced for Haha’s Rosa.

After ‘No More Trouble’ was performed, emcee DJ Jeremy conducted a short interview who Skull and Haha teasingly calling him their brother. The duo were very thankful for the audience as Skull said that he was worried about the fans due to the heavy rain. They also mention that Malaysia is a beautiful place and loved the food here. A game segment was held after the interview where Skull and Haha picked 5 people each to form their own team. They then played the ‘sharing game’ which a team member from each team will act out a given word or character and pass in down to the end of the line for Skull or Haha to guess. At the end of the game, the fan who took part got a CD and a hug from both Haha and Skull.

Before continuing the showcase, Haha expressed that they were very thankful and touched by the fans who attended since the weather was disheartening. He then asked the fans to put their phones and camera away as he wanted to make eye contact with the fans. Haha said that ‘let’s make people who couldn’t come today regret for not attending‘. He also said that ‘ today he is not Running Man Haha, but he is singer Haha.’ It was a great night as the energy throughout was exceptionally high as they performed ‘From a Fool to a Fool‘ and ‘Ragga Muffin‘. Haha even took his shades and cap off and poured water all over himself, making the crowd go wild. Upon the start of their sentimental song, Haha and Skull asked the fans not to concentrate on snapping photos, instead switch on their phone lights and stage lights were all off. ‘Hennesy 19‘ was then performed. It was an unforgettable scene as the fans were all lighting up the ‘Oppa’ while Skull and Haha sang their heart out.

As it was near to Christmas, Haha and Skull expressed that it would be great to celebrate together. They performed Christmas songs like ‘Jingle Bells’ (Korean version) and even ‘Feliz Navidad‘. The last song was ‘Sweet Rice Cake‘. Haha and Skull were taking pictures around the stage with lucky fans. At the end of the showcase, Haha promised that they will be back soon and wishing all the audience Happy New Year with a Korean style New Year’s greeting.

It was an unforgettable evening. Haha and Skull had made not only a successful showcase filled with energy and charm but also a showcase that touched and creates a lot of memories with and for their fans.
