The lovely ladies of SPICA make a decoration of independence with their America debut “I Did It“. SPICA is the latest Korean artists to challenge the American music market. This is a song about freedom and living your own life the chorus “I did it. Yes I did it. I did it for me.” The song is an anthem of girl power, independence, and staying true to oneself. The sound is reminiscent of music from the late 1990’s/ early 2000’s with some jazz and R&B influence thrown in. The use of the horn section and guitar add a mature element to the song. SPICA’s voices sound great and compliment the music perfectly.
The music video itself is classy, simple, and sophisticated with a color scheme of black, white, and red that matches their theme of maturity and sophistication. But in keeping with a KPop music video the girls show their dancing skills with their normal sass and energy.
If you want to see the ladies for yourself they are already in Los Angeles, California as part of the 2014 KCON. What do you think of SPICA’s American debut? Are you going to KCon, who are you excited to see?
