When it comes to Korean music, it is indeed a collection of amazingly talented artists. This is why K-Pop is trending worldwide, having its fandoms expanding rapidly. Their music is produced, written, composed and even directed by themselves most of time, which is the best reason for their work to climb to the peak of success.
All of those who do compose music for themselves are being put into a list recently considering the number of songs registered in the Korean Music Copyright Association. Here are the ones who are on the top.
- G-Dragon of Bigbang
What more is there to explain? He got the highest number of registered songs, which is 160 in number, including 6 solely composed by him. ‘Always’, ‘Lies’, ‘Haru Haru’, ‘Foolish Love’, and ‘Oh My Friend’ are just a few pieces of his work he has done for his group.
‘Breathe’ is one of his solos.
‘Sunset Glow’ is one of his compositions for the group.
- Jung Junhyung of BEAST
The next best indeed. He has a one of kind recipe in his music. He has 104 songs registered and also quite a long history in his work. ‘Lightless’, ‘Fiction’, ‘On Rainy Days’, and ‘I knew It’ are a few pieces of his work for the group and he did the solo debut of his fellow group member Yang Yoseop: ‘Caffeine’.

- Zico of Block B
It’s none other than our incredible rapper, Zico. He had 85 songs registered and 2 are solely composed by him. He made history with the latest of his releases, even becoming the number one rapper in the Korean hip hop scene as a soloist. ‘Nillili Mambo’, ‘Her’, ‘Very Good’ are few he did for Block B. ‘Bachelor Monkey’ was composed for Verbal Jint as one his works for other artists.

- Jung Yong-hwa of CNBLUE
This fabulous artist had 75 songs registered and 24 solely composed among them. CNBLUE which is lead by Yong-hwa, also takes a unique route in music. It’s obvious Yong-hwa puts his whole heart into his work because his work is as beautiful as he is. ‘Just Please’, ‘One Time’, ‘In My Head’, and ‘Coffee Shop’ are just a few examples of his work for the group. ‘Love Is Only You’ by AOA is his doing, as well.

- Kim Jong-hyun of SHINee
Jong-hyun is in the top list too, having 45 songs registered and one of them is solely composed. He has contributed a lot to the group and had also been involved in Taemin‘s solo albums. ‘Obsession’, ‘Everybody’, ‘View’ are a few songs he composed for his group.

- Kim Junsu of JYJ
Charismatic Junsu has 40 songs registered and 16 other songs, placing himself at the 6th place of top seven. His solo album, ‘Tarantallegra’ is one of the outstanding pieces of his work. ‘Mission’ and ‘Fallen Leaves’ are a couple of works he has done for JYJ.
- Jung Jin-young of B1A4
Adorable Jin-young has 33 registered songs, with 24 that are self composed. ‘Good Night’, ‘Baby I’m Sorry’, ‘Lonely’, ‘Glass of Water’ are of his doing.
