The girls are back! The leading ladies of SM Entertainment, Girls Generation, have kept their fangirls and fanboys alike on the edge of their seats since the first mention of their new album.
The girls last comeback was with “I Got a Boy”, over a year ago, and it swept the nations charts at the time. Finally making their comeback with the song “Mr.Mr”, it is expected to wow the K-pop nation once again. The album was digitally released on February 24 and instantly received an overwhelming show of love.
Despite a 30 minute delay, the MV was uploaded to SM Entertainment’s YouTube channel and it’s now time for SONE’s to fangirl and fanboy to their hearts content! Check out some photos from the set of the MV before you take in the girls doing what they do best in the new music video.
With the cinematography ranging from grainy black and white images to neon blues and vibrant pinks, Girls Generation’s Mr.Mr. is a wonderful blend of new and old. Featuring transitions which use glitch effects and blurs that synchronize perfectly with the tempo of the alternative techno pop sound of the song it gives the video a very interesting feel.
The new song is accompanied by a brand new dance that showcases both the girls femininity as well as a satirical take on masculinity; with moves suggesting the adjustment of ties and sleeves.
Wearing costumes that include a fedora hat with a collared shirt and vest/suit jacket as well as beautiful pastel pink colored dresses the girls cannot help but look gorgeous in both.
The dance break choreography does not disappoint with powerful moves led by Hyoyeon in the center of the group. What’s also surprising and extremely new to the 6 year veteran girl group are back up dancers! Even though they only appear for a short amount of time!
