With the unstable worldwide situation due to the pandemic, many organizers decided to stay with virtual events in 2021. But this year looks more promising as the pandemic is in decline in many countries and organizers are filling in the spots with hybrid events.
We have seen this trend in Korea last year already as actors and groups held on-site events which were also streamed for those unable to attend in person. Examples of such events can be actor JinYoung´s fanmeeting on 11th December or APink´s fanmeeting which was held on 31st December. We can expect this hybrid phenomena to continue into 2022 and there are already some events following this set-up announced.
SF9 is going to kick off a three-days long concert series titled “LIVE FANTASY #3 IMPERFECT“on 21st January. All three concerts are going to take place in Seoul, but fans can also purchase the online streaming tickets on GlobalInterPark. The ticketing is opened worldwide, catering to abroad fans as well. The group has recently released a new album “Rumination“, so we can surely expect the songs on the tracklist to be performed during these concerts as well.
Another event which is going to be in a hybrid form is the “KON convention“, scheduled for July in Sweden. This convention promises a mega concert on the second day with Luminous, Brooklyn, MustB and Dongkiz performing. Fans unable to travel to Sweden can purchase the virtual streaming option as well.
Hybrid events are going to become the new norm, ensuring as many fans as possible can enjoy the music despite possible restrictions. We find this shift to hybrid events as a good sign, how about you?
