There are many sides to being an idol and although media tends to portray the good side, those who have first-hand experience knows all about the hectic schedules, sasaeng fans, and haters.
4minute recently visited tvN‘s ‘Baek Ji Yeon’s People Inside‘ where Sohyun stated, “Idols receive a lot of love from students and the public when they’re young. When that happens, you lose the innocence of childhood early, and you mature fast. It happened to me. I couldn’t experience the things that my friends could. I couldn’t go on retreats with my friends, and my friends would go eat and hang out after school but I’d have to go to practice.”
Jiyoon agreed, saying, “When I talked to my friends, our subjects were different. The way we thought were so different. I felt a bit skeptical (about the path I chose) back then. I was hurt because the things we worried about were so vastly different“.
However, hard work and endurance eventually led the girls of 4minute to their position in the music industry today.
