You may recognise him from ‘The Heirs’. Poised to be one of the rising Hallyu stars, actor Kang HaNeul recently held his first slew of overseas fan events in Singapore. Needless to say, many fans from around the region also flew in to catch a glimpse of the 25-year-old heartthrob!
In town for the Korean Film Festival 2015 to promote film ‘Twenty’, Kang HaNeul’s meet and greet session with fans on October 31st was nothing short of memorable moments of up-close interactions. Held at the Shaw Theatres Lido, the humble young actor was seen bowing to every single fan he greeted, before personally giving out pre-signed posters and taking group photos. Talk about a cozy session, lucky fans not only got handshakes and small chats with Kang HaNeul, many also got a big hug, and those seated next to him during photo takings enjoyed some serious arm linking moments!
Also, that sunshine smile of Kang HaNeul is infectious.
Part of the star-studded main cast of ‘Twenty’, also starring Kim WooBin and 2PM’s Junho, Kang HaNeul made the film screening in Singapore extra special by watching it alongside his fervent fans.
All smiles, Kang HaNeul called out, “Thank you for coming. ‘Twenty’ is not a difficult movie (to follow). Hope you all will enjoy and laugh a lot!” before settling down amongst the audience in the theatre. Fans can certainly look forward to his hilarious performance as GyeongJae in the movie, a typical student who desperately wants to land a job in a conglomerate, and everything he does in college is geared towards this goal.
Kang HaNeul began his acting career in musical theatres in 2006 and went on to appear in various hit productions such as ‘To The Beautiful You’ (2012) with SHINee’s MinHo and Choi Sulli, ‘The Heirs’ (2013) with Park Shin Hye, Lee Min Ho and Kim Woo Bin, and ‘Misaeng’ (2014) with ZE:A’s Siwan and Kang So Ra. The year 2015 saw the actor shifting to the big screen, with works such as movie ‘C’est Si Bon‘ (2015).
On top of the meet and greet session, Kang HaNeul also held a private event ‘Just For You: Selfie with Kang HaNeul’ on November 1st. We look forward to the actor’s next project, and his return to Singapore!
Officially KMusic would like to thank Korean Film Festival Organising Committee and KMTV for the special invite.
