Actor Shin Dong Wook Has an Incurable and Rare Disease

It was revealed that actor Shin Dong Wook is suffering from rare disease called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome / Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS).

Recently, one fan shared a post titled, ‘Please read – Actor Shin Dong Wook suffering from a rare disease’, on an online forum. The post stated: ‘It was recently found that Shin Dong Wook is suffering from an incurable disease called CRPS. I wish to remember him.’

The actor enlisted in the army back in July 20th of 2011 but he suddenly collapsed while coming out of the training camp. During the treatment, it was discovered that he suffers from CRPS. Few days later he was discharged from the army.

CRPS is a rare disease characterized by severe pain, swelling, and changes in the skin. CRPS is expected to worsen over time. It often initially affects an arm or a leg and can spread throughout the body. Even a slight touch can bring a person suffering from CPRS horrible pain.

Netizens commented: ‘I would have never guessed that he was suffering from such a terrible disease’, ‘I wish you well Shin Dong Wook’ and ‘I’ll wait for the day you come back as an actor’.
