Actress Kim Ja-Ok passed away on November 16th from lung cancer. She was 63 years old.
The veteran, award-winning actress was diagnosed in 2008 with colorectal cancer, and she immediately received surgery. She recovered quickly and resumed acting the following month, appearing in the drama “Working Mom.” She stated, “My recovery is quick. Perhaps it’s because my body was used to being bad, but my condition is good right now. When I found out I had cancer, I realized I was being lazy. I just worked and didn’t look after my health.”
Kim Ja-Ok followed with appearances in various dramas, television, and variety shows. Her most recent drama, “Woman Who Married Three Times,” ended a mere eight months ago. She particularly garnered a lot of love from her audience in the variety show, “Noonas Over Flowers.”
It was stated that the cancer had recently spread to her lungs, causing her hospitalization four days ago. She is survived by her husband Oh Seung-Koon, and her two children.
Her wake will be held on November 19th, Wednesday.
Our deepest condolences to her family.
