On December 20th, girl group AESPA dropped a music video for ‘Dreams Come True’ as part of SM Station. The original track comes from the popular 1st generation girl group, S.E.S who was under the same company when active. The 1998 track was revamped in the 4th generation group’s modern style with hip hop elements, reflecting today’s preferred and trendy musical genres. Its English section features a couple of rap lines, neatly with the Korean language captions listed on-screen.
Visually, the concept, choreography, and directing was partly contributed by SM Entertainment alumni BoA. The music video looks stunning with a blend of street and futuristic styling. Beginning with spray painting, the vibrant graffitied walls add a swagger before transitioning to a purple paradise. With flowers evenly draping above the ledges, the girls dance in light pastels. The third set we see turns the members into fairies. With augmented reality wings, the angelic performers continue to display their visuals and vocals. Finally, the last set shows them dancing on top of a building surrounded by holographic buildings behind supported by the group’s æ members.
