Australian K-Drama fans can throw their hands up and rejoice as their lifelong dream of seeing their favourite actors and actresses live in Australia could possibly become a reality!
The Academy – a Australia-based agency – is sounding out the K-Pop and K-Drama fan base in Australia on their interest in seeing actor Song Joong Ki IF he were to visit.
Song Joong Ki’s lead role in ‘Descendants of the Sun’ has swept many K-drama fans off their feet. The drama has taken not only Korea but also the world by storm, hitting high ratings right from the start.
This exciting venture, if it happens, would be a first for Australia, as we have yet to have an actor/actress fan meet! Although we are garnering more concerts, with B.A.P to arrive later this May, this will be an experience Australian K-drama fans would not want to miss. There is a large market for Korean dramas in Australia because it has a wider target audience and could attract more than your regular KPOP fans.
The Academy has, via mymusictaste.com, an organisation that helps empower fans in bringing their favorite artists to their own cities by providing potential promoters with numbers and data regarding fan interest for possible shows, started a poll. Interested fans can click on “FOLLOW” or “MAKE” (“FOLLOW” just requires you to click and use your social media account to register your expression of interest…no financial commitment is required) to indicate their preferred city!
