It seems that playing the violin is second nature to B.I.G’s Benji. Having showcased his talents with the violin on many occasions, he has enthralled fans worldwide with his passion for playing. But, in a collaboration with CJ E&M’s Youtube channel, KSTYLETV, we get to see a different side to his playing ability and personality.
Trying to keep things casual, Benji is seen on a stage with a director who prompts him with the songs he has listed and would like him to play. Not happy with the usual classical music options that is listed, he asks if he can spice things up, but is shot down when the director asks him to “stick to the list”.
After some dialogue between the two, Benji settles down and begins to play his violin. The first song we hear is the classical piece by Pachelbel ‘Canon In D,’ followed by Schuberts, ‘Ave Maria.’ However, once the lights dim, Benji makes it obvious that he is fed up of playing the classics with a heavy sigh. The mood changes, and suddenly Benji continues with his own cover of the theme to the recent hit movie ‘La La Land,’ which is titled ‘Mia & Sebastians Theme (Late For A Date)’ – Which is not on the list the director gave him!
It’s truly great to see a more playful side to Benji, and that his efforts of introducing classical music to a new generation of music lovers can be achieved through his covers of hit movie soundtracks, and slightly scripted skits that create a lighthearted experience for the listener.
