Trigger warnings for blood, violence, and possible emotional wreckage.
On November 6th, B.A.P dropped the thrilling, jaw dropping music video, ‘Skydive.’ The title track was released for their newest album, ‘Noir‘ which was released on the same day. From the 10 minute video, this song definitely did the genre justice. Needless to say, this comeback has got me SHOOK. The 6 member group is known for their hard hitting, intense music and this comeback definitely showed that. From a musical standpoint, the vocals and rapping were on point as always. The intro itself was very chilling and brought a lot of expectations for the song. It gave me a very ‘Boondock Saints‘ feel to it all. The overall quality of the choreography was fierce and matched the song well, especially the dance breaks by Zelo and Jongup.
Many have claimed that this comeback is reminiscent of the ‘One Shot‘ era, and I can agree to a certain extent. Though the elements are similar to ‘One Shot,’ the cinematography and theatrical quality of this comeback is on a whole different level. And I’m not just saying that because there’s a lot more violence. From the beginning to end, fans see clues from the previous teasers leading up to the video release as they follow along Daehyun in a race against time to find out “Who is X.” Even if viewers know what to expect as they follow along, one can’t help but be in awe at the outcome of it all.
As much as I’d love to comment on this music video, you will just have to judge and see it for yourself. Check out the music video below:
