It’s a great start of 2013 for B1A4 as they won not one, but two awards in Japan!
Along with other big names like KARA and Girls’ Generation, B1A4 won awards at the 27th Japan Golden Disc Awards. B1A4 won ‘New Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best 3 New Artists’.
They shared the ‘New Artist of the Year’ awards with popular British band One Direction and and Japanese pop girl group, Nokizaka 46. B1A4 also shared the ‘Best 3 New Artists’ award with IU and Boyfriend as representatives of K-pop in Japan.
B1A4’s Japanese debut song, ‘Beautiful Target – Japanese version’ was a huge hit and their first Japanese concert sold out in just three minutes!
After realising that they had received two awards, B1A4 said “We cannot believe we won two awards. We won these awards thanks to our fans. We are very thankful and we promise to become a group that deserves more of your love in 2013.”
B1A4 is planning to continue more promotional activities in Japan in the future, having held their first solo concert in December last year.
Congratulations B1A4! What other artists do you hope will win awards in 2013?
