BDC ‘MOONLIGHT’ MV:
The lyrics depict someone wanting to bask under the light of their lover. The dreamy synths scream an 80s influence that propels the track to literal new heights like the moon. The spacey instrumental, combined with the layered vocals in the chorus strike the right balance in the power dynamic for the track. With a soothing background, the group’s vocals shine through effortlessly. The rap section in the 2nd verse strays away from the typical half-time in many K-Pop tracks, instead keeping the momentum from the chorus going.
Looking the MV, there is plenty of imagery relating to space and otherwise the evening when the moon shines bright. From clear shots of the moon itself showing its craters and imperfections outer space, to waves and floating monoliths, the video has a certain mystical indistinct aesthetic. Rather than focusing on a storyline, the video emphasises showcases the performance by the three members. Holding standing mics, they make great use of them to create a dynamic performance. Donning pastel suits with matching hair colours, the powerful yet clean routine has plenty of arm movements and spins to keep the watcher’s attention. The breakdown in the bridge where the group sit leaning against each other’s backs lends to a pleasant pause before kicking back into the enthralling dance.
