Review:
‘Be With You‘ tells a beautiful story of love, loss and family. After the miraculous return of presumably dead Soo-ah, her husband Woo-jin and young son have to learn how to live with her again. Because she has lost her memory, she has to become accustomed to her new life. It is really interesting to watch how she interacts with her family again. Soo-ah also asks Woo-jin to relay their love story to her. A large portion of the movie is a flashback depicting how the couple fell in love.
Soo-ah and Woo-jin have a sweet love story that begins when they are high school students. The progression of their love story is well-paced, which makes it realistic. I think that anyone who watches this film will also find the characters relatable. There are plenty of funny moments in their love story, as well as embarrassing and sad ones. Dealing with loss is always difficult, and this movie portrays it in a realistic manner. The film shows how much parents will sacrifice for their children, with Woo-jin risking his own health to make his son happy. The warm sense of family and community in this movie will bring tears to people’s eyes.
The realisations at the end of ‘Be With You‘ will definitely shock the audience. All the twists are heartbreaking but there are also shining moments that will warm your heart. There is also a surprise cameo by Park Seo Joon. I recommend this movie to people who hold their family close to their heart.
