BEAST recently participated in a photo shoot for the fashion magazine, ELLE Korea, for their August 2016 edition. For the spread, each member wore patterned and solid colored shirts and trousers.
BEAST also sat down with ELLE for an interview in which the magazine asked questions about their growth and development as artists over the past seven years since their debut.
Junhyung said, “In our third album, we selected the tracks and music that best expressed our current selves. You could hear and understand the members’ emotions and issues. The lyrics are based on our own personal lives and experiences. For example, I think of my past love as something significant. It’s comfortable to talk and convey the message about the feeling of longing something/someone or the pain.”
Yoseob confesses that he was originally not very good at aegyo and said, “At first it was hard, but now I don’t really want to try to be different from what fans want from me. I wanted to show them what they want to see. I think that’s the job of an idol, don’t you agree?”
In regards to the group being five-member after the departure of former member, Jang Hyunseung, Kikwang said, “Our latest album helped us get closer and we bonded with each other even more. We cannot fill the gap that Hyunseung left behind right now, but as time goes by, we can fill it bit by bit.”
