This past weekend, Beenzino made two special announcements to fans enjoying his Dallas concert as part of the ‘Beenzino North American Tour 2015.’ Not only did he wow them with his amazing music, but he also shared some personal and shocking information with the attendees.
Those who got to experience the concert at the Granada Theater learned that a few events are coming up for Beenzino in 2016. First, he will be dropping a new album soon. This will add to his already impressive discography with albums and EPs such as ‘Up All Night’ and ‘24:26,’ not to mention the numerous singles he has also released. What makes this even more exciting is that he hasn’t dropped an album since the release of the EP album, ‘Up All Night’ in July of 2014.
The Illionaire Records rapper also announced that, soon, he will be enlisting into the military. Korean men have mandatory obligation to enlist into Korea’s armed forces between the ages of 18 to 35, and Beenzino is nearing his 30’s. The service time typically lasts from 21 to 24 months depending on the position appointed.
Seeing that Beenzino had previously released his albums in the summer of 2012 and 2014, one might speculate that the release may follow the same time frame for the new album in 2016. Beenzino did not offer any specifics about the album release date, name, or any other small details, so fans will just have to patiently anticipate for the release of more information. He, also, did not give a date for his military enlistment. In the meantime, fans can only hope that it will be after the album’s release and promotions.
I am excited to hear about the new album, but a little sad that Beenzino will be one of the many to soon join the military. Thankfully, it’s only 2 years, and who knows, we might just get a new album before then! Were you one of the fans at the concert? How do you feel about the news? Let us know!
