Girl groups Girls’ Generation and KARA finished off the year 2012 successfully in Japan.
Both groups ranked high on the Oricon chart, KARA ranked #18 and Girls’ Generation at #25, making them the best selling Korean artists in Japan.
KARA’s previous album “Super Girl“, released in November last year achieved a sale of 295,651 copies. They also made it to top 100 with two other albums “Girls Forever” and “Kara Collection” which are ranked at #66 and #99, respectively, on the Oricon yearly album sales chart.
While Girls’ Generations’ self-titled Japanese album sold 229,043 copies. Their “Girls & Peace” album also ranked at #41 with 141,259 albums sold.
The Oricon chart was topped by Japanese group Mr. Children’s ‘Mr. Children 2005-2010′ as the best selling album with a sale of 1,170,298 copies.
