U.Ji and Dahye have officially terminated their exclusive contracts with YNB Entertainment
After lengthy discussions, the pair reached an agreement with their company on September 5th, which will see their contracts come to an end despite there still being time left to serve on them.
The shock announcement will see BESTie reduced from four members to two, with only leader Hyeyeon and maknae Haeryung remaining under contract. An official from YNB Entertainment said that the company would look into methods to reorganise the group, including potentially through the recruitment of new members. The company has also confirmed that Hyeyeon and Haeryung will be “focusing on their solo activities” for the time being.
BESTie made their debut in 2013 with the single ‘Pitapat‘. Prior to this, members Hyeyeon, UJi and Haeryung debuted as part of EXID but all decided to leave within a few months for personal reasons. BESTie‘s latest single ‘Excuse Me‘ was released in May 2015.
U.Ji and Dahye are the latest in a string of idols to elect to leave their groups. We wish them, and the remaining members of BESTie, the best for the future!
