Seungri of Big Bang will cast in a 2-hour special movie titled “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo” also known as Kindaichi Case Files!
Kindaichi Case Files is a serialized Japanese mystery manga series based on the crime solving adventures of a high school student, Hajime Kindaichi.
The story will take place in Hong Kong’s Kowloon.
The special 2-hour drama features well-known actors/actresses like Yamada Ryosuke of the Japanese idol group Hey! Say! Jump!, who will play the lead role of detective Kindaichi Hajime, Taiwanese actor Wu Chun, Hong Kong’s Vivian Hsu, Eric Tsang, a popular actor from “Rookies“, Kiritani Kenta; and Seungri from Korean dance-vocal group, Big Bang.
Seungri will be playing the role of Kim Rondon, a student from Korea who works part-time at a hotel in Hong Kong. In his acting, he commented, “This is my first appearance in a Japanese drama! I’m very honored and pleased about it.” He also added, “Kindaichi Case Files is a famous as a manga and drama series. I’m nervous to act with international stars. I want to do my best and I hope the filming will be fun. Please treat me kindly.”
The 2-hour special drama “Kindaichi Shonen no Jiken” will be released sometime in January 2013 and is set to air on NTV Japan this winter.
