On November 10th, brand new girl group Billlie officially debuted with their first title track, ‘RING X RING’. This also comes off their 1st mini album, ‘The Billage of Perception: Chapter One’. The eventual 6 members have had plenty of hype and anticipation amongst insiders since the Instagram account for their pre-debut form, ‘MYSTIC ROOKIES’ was created in February 2020. Founded by vetean accomplished South Korean singer-songwriter Yoon Jongshin, this is Mystic Story‘s (formerly Mystic Entertainment) first ever girl group.
Members include Moon Sua, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Siyoon, and Haruna. The first 5 were part of the pre-debut lineup, and with a couple members leaving prior, Haruna was the last addition to the sextet. Notably members such as Haram and Tzuki have trained or received training under the parent company, SM Entertainment.
- Suhyeon has participated in both audition shows, Produce 101 and Mix Nine , making to the final in the latter but ultimately not making the cut.
- Moon Sua trained under YG Entertainment for 10 years before leaving the company in 2019 to her current home. She is also the little sister of ASTRO‘s Moonbin.
Listening to the debut single, it tells the dilemma of someone in a village of whether to leave or stay to solve and support its future. The industrial sounding synth that steam rolls across the instrumental gives it an identity, and the focus on the deeper tones and rap heavy structure set the tone for what the girl group look to accomplish.

BILLLIE ‘RING X RING’ MV:
Watching the music video, we watch the girls mysteriously look at an old weatherboard house. Entering we see them walk through to find dark alleys but a final open colourful area. Filled with one colour blocks, the blocks lead the girls up a set of stairs to a faceless door. The 4 minute clip taking a first person perspective as we open a dark door that sees the girls relaxing unbothered in a sunny attic.
