March 28 marks GOT7’s member, Jackson’s 23 birthday (22 internationally) so let’s take the time today to wish him well!
Jackson was born in 1994 in Hong Kong where he was a national fencer and ranked 11th in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and won first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011. In Hong Kong, Jackson attended the American International School and he can speak Mandarin, Shanghainese, Cantonese, English, Korean and a little bit of French.
He moved to South Korea in 2011 and was a JYP Entertainment trainee for two and a half years before debuting with GOT7 in 2014.
Jackson is well-known as a rising variety star. He appeared on several variety shows, including ‘Hitmaker’, ‘Roommate’ (which brought him the 2014 SBS Best Newcomer Award), ‘Star King,’ ‘Law of the Jungle,’ ‘Happy Together,’ ‘Radio Star,’’Cool Kiz on the Block,’ and many many more. His star is also shinging brightly in China as he ranked number 1 on the realtime Weibo search after his appearance on the Chinese version of ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator.’
Meanwhile, GOT7 has made their return to a music scene with the release of music video for ‘Fly’ on March 20.
