On August 19th, BLACKPINK released the music video to their pre-release track, ‘PINK VENOM’. This will form part of the quartet’s upcoming 2nd full album slated for September. Being the first official comeback in almost two years, the wait has been grueling for fans in the traditional YG Entertainment fashion.
The minimal hip hop track features the Geomungo, a traditional Korean instrument to nod to their roots. Using their girl crush image, the rappers Jennie and Lisa deliver charismatic raps followed by the angelic yet confident vocals from vocalists Rosé and Jisoo. The anti-drop chorus fits the group’s sound perfectly and this backs up with a dance break to conclude the track to a thundering finish.
