On October 14th, girl group BLACKSWAN dropped their music video for the single, ‘Close to Me’. The album comes off their identically named single album. The album features a Shark remix of ‘Get Up’ as well as the English version of the title track. This marks the quartet’s first comeback with this lineup in 1 year since their debut with the single, ‘Tonight’.
Lyrically, the track talks about boldly wanting to get close to someone. The dance instrumental harks back to vibes from 2nd generation groups, particularly in the chorus where the backing isn’t stuffed with layers but simply lets the voices lead cleanly through the catchy section.

Watching the music video, it takes place inside prison grounds. The girls although convicted, rule the place as their own. Exuding confidence in stylised black and white jail uniforms, they dance with the crew through the choreography. Whether that be in the office, on the middle platform connecting cells together, or in the outdoor break area, the prison walls merely act as the backdrop to their stunning performance.
Initially debuting back in 2011, the DR Music group has gone through several lineup changes with 17 previous members before arriving at the current lineup. Even though none of these promoting members were part of the original ensemble, they carry the name into a new generation of fans and hopeful recognition.
BLACKSWAN‘s 1st single album, ‘Close to Me’ featuring the same named lead single is available now!
