Block B is back dropping their fifth mini album ‘Blooming Period’, which carries a very different vibe than their previous releases.
Taking a softer approach in their music this time around, Block B recently released ‘몇 년 후에 (A Few Years Later)’ on March 28, a leading single that charted to number three on Gaon. Just from the that song and the promotional pictures that followed, fans could tell this was going to be an album like no other for the seven member group.
Officially releasing the title track ‘Toy’ along with the new album, Block B definitely has taken a more mellow approach while still keeping their style. ‘Toy’ is a contemporary track that shows Zico, Park Kyung, U-Kwon, Taeil, P.O, Jaehyo, and B-Bomb in various settings moving from room to room and speaking of a overwhelming emotions for a woman who does not feel the same; the message being they would rather stay by her side and be her toy then be away from her.
At the group’s April 2 Blockbuster concert, Block B announced that their new album would be released on April 11, with ‘Toy’ as the title track. Since being released today, ‘Toy’ has peaked at number one on all eight major real-time music charts in Korea, while the songs ‘Walkin’ in the Rain’, Taeil’s version of ‘사랑이었다 (It Was Love)’, and the U-Kwon and B-Bomb duet ‘빙글빙글’ also charted well.
What did you think of the new song? It was pretty cool and I really liked the flow! Tell us your thoughts.
