BTOB‘s latest ballad just got even more meaningful!
BTOB have been gaining a lot of attention with promotions for incorporating Korean sign language into the choreography for latest title track ‘Missing You‘.
On November 11, BTOB shared a touching acoustic rendition of the song, performing alongside a deaf fan who interpreted the song’s lyrics in sign language. For an instant mood lifter, check out the video below!
BTOB‘s choreography for ‘Missing You‘ made headlines in the first weeks of their live performances. The group’s long-time choreographer Doobu revealed that the idea of incorporating sign language into the song’s choreography came from the BTOB members themselves, with Sungjae thinking of the idea whilst on a plane.
Whilst the choreography for ‘Missing You‘ is indeed inspired by sign language, the signs have been altered slightly to fit better into the dance. In BTOB‘s intimate acoustic performance viewers can see the interpreter sign the lyrics more clearly, helping to break down the barriers between hard-of-hearing music fans and their idols, whilst raising awareness for people with physical disabilities.
BTOB‘s collaboration with a signing fan is sure to give you a case of the warm fuzzies!
