Thousands of fans traveled from around the country and beyond to witness and experience BTS’ debut in the Big Apple and the start of their much anticipated tour Episode II: The Red Bullet at the Best Buy Theater. For most attendees, waiting an entire day under the toasty city sun paid off, as soon as the silhouettes of all 7 members were visible on the infamous stage. The energy immediately escalated, as A.R.M.Y.’s chanted for the boys and poured out their love for their favorite K-Pop group.
With their introductions, the members showed off their charisma and English speaking skills, setting the mood for the rest of the evening – exciting and most definitely fun. The boys went on to perform their set, proving to their A.R.M.Y.’s that the wait was well worth it. As they went on to perform their hit tracks such as “N.O”, “We are Bulletproof Pt 1”, “Look Here” and “No More Dream”, the energy continued to rise, becoming contagious and electric, the entire house on their feet, singing, dancing along, jumping and waving hand made signs.
The group reached their encore track when everything suddenly changed. As the boys finished up and left the stage, the screen bore a simple white square, leaving fans to speculate that it wasn’t functioning properly and that was why the idols’ performance felt cut short without the usual goodbyes.
Best Buy Theater security asked attendees to leave, ensuring the show was officially over. Somewhat confused, A.R.M.Y.’s gathered their belongings and those who paid for their fan interaction stayed behind. Unfortunately due to a death threat posed on an online post towards Rap Monster, the CEO of Subkulture had to announce the decision that all fan interaction was officially canceled for the safety of the members, staff and fans. A compensation was promised to all who paid and were chosen for the extra photo – information on this has been made available on SubKulture’s Facebook page. Despite the abrupt ending, the debut was undeniably perfect according to most A.R.M.Y.’s.
BTS is to continue their tour, moving onto Dallas, Chicago and finally, Los Angeles. Look for our upcoming articles on each stop!
