Suga from BTS surprised fans around the world on May 22nd when he made his comeback as Agust D with the release of his next mixtape ‘D-2‘. Although ARMYs originally thought it was a countdown and the release would happen in two days, it turns out that it’s actually the name of his mixtape.
As Suga had extra time on his hands during quarantine, he decided to revive Agust D and produced this album. It features a few collaborations, one of which is with his leader RM and another with American singer Max. This is Agust D‘s first comeback in four years.
Suga also released an MV for the title track ‘Daechwita‘. Check it out below!
AGUST D – ‘Daechwita’ MV:
The track combines modern hip hop with traditional music elements. This interesting blend is very unique. Similarly, the MV features two sides of Suga: one as the king and the other as a rebel. He plays both roles. Although the MV is set in historical dynastic times, modern rebel Suga comes cruising in a car and causes trouble. On the verge of being beheaded at the end, he takes out a gun and shoots king Suga.
The set is very extravagant and looks like it came straight out of a historical K-drama. His BTS members Jin and Jungkook make a hilarious cameo as they are commoners and are seen fighting in the background in one scene as Suga raps.
