On November 6th, Universal Music Japan released the MV for BTS‘ Japanese version of ‘Airplane Pt 2‘. This song does not have a Korean MV. Check it out below!
BTS’ Japanese MV for ‘Airplane Pt. 2’:
To fit the Latin vibe of the song, the MV takes place in an exotic setting that is reminiscent to what we see on old Western movies. Firstly, V enters a bar and looks around. Jungkook is sitting at the counter, while Jimin is kicking back on the piano. When Jungkook starts the song, he walks from the bar to a chair where he sings with a mic stand. This prop was mostly used for their first stage performance of the song back in May of this year. The setting shifts to a black-and-white stage where only Jin, RM and the mic stand are in colour. The group perform their smooth and deliberate choreography in the bar. Even the lighting of the MV evokes a sense of relaxation in the audience. Their outfits match the concept of the MV as the designs of their clothes are similar to what we see when people are on holiday. At times, the sunset becomes more evident as it shines through the glass-stained windows. The members wear more exotic accessories like fedoras and scarves.
J-Hope jumps onto the bar counter to dance before Jungkook and V join him. The setting changes once again to an outdoor villa where they perform their second chorus. It starts raining, but the group continue to dance in the rain. The MV ends back in the location that they started. However, this time the rest of the group are at the bar counter while V is at the front.
