It’s not that hard of a question, honestly, is it Kpop fans?
The answer of course is Psy’s “Gentleman“!
Korea and Kpop fans may have known about this amazing performer for over 10 years now, but to the world at large Psy has only gained his viral sensation status since his hit “Gangnam Style” took to the air waves. That was back in 2012 and the song still holds the title for “most-viewed video ever on YouTube” with a staggering 1.8 billion and counting!
“Gentleman” was so highly anticipated itself that within 24 hours of it’s release this past April it had already racked up over 38 million views.
It was recently reported that Psy was in the studio working on a collaboration album with Aerosmith’s front man Steven Tyler. Well that is not the only music we have to look forward to from this pop sensation. Psy is still in the process of working on his first full length American debut album.
Psy will be heading home to Korea soon to start his highly anticipated concert extravaganza. With a name like “Midnight Gymnastic” the 5 day long concert which will run from December 20 to 24 is sure to be over the top as only Psy can do.
Psy’s concert back in April, his last concert in Korea, had 50,000 fans chanting his name at the concert venue and more than 150,000 fans globally on YouTube watching the live-stream.
Though he may have seen a success with the number of online views for the concert itself on YouTube, unfortunately Psy did not take home any of the awards at the first ever YouTube Awards just a few days back. Even though he had been nominated for three of them, “YouTube Phenomenon”, “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year”. Regardless of that “Gentleman” is still the most viewed video for 2013, and if he does reach the 600 million mark that will place him in the top 5 of all-time most-viewed list.
