Korean a cappella group EXIT has been making a unique impression on the music scene for some time now, and have released their very first mini album, “DE. D’uh. Power,” in August of this year. They have just dropped a new music video for their single, “Beautiful,” and their singing definitely lives up to the song’s title!
For those that are wondering what exactly an a cappella group is, it’s when singers use only their voices to create the music, no or very minimal background accompaniment is used. This is very similar to what you may see a glee club or show choir do at your local schools. It requires quite a bit of skill to pull off the technique, and EXIT executes it flawlessly. This is my first time listening to this group, in fact I’d never heard of them before I saw this video, and I have to say, they are definitely worth a listen.

What do you think of EXIT? Yes, all those background noises and drum effects you’re hearing are all done vocally. Amazing, huh? I enjoyed the concept as well; the mysterious girl in a masquerade mask, the man at the bar with the pocket watch, etc. It’s very vague, yet still manages to create an enticing effect.
