South Korean indie singer-songwriter Car, the garden (Cha Jung-won) is embarking on his second North American tour in 2024. Beginning late January, the tour will start on the West Coast in San Francisco, before moving east to New York and finishing up early February in Toronto.
Car, the garden first began his professional music career as Mayson the Soul, and changed his stage name to his current one at the suggestion of his friend Oh Hyuk, from Hyukoh. When separated, his name translates to the phrase with “Cha (차)” literally translating to “car,” and “Jungwon (정원)” literally translating to “garden.”
He has made appearances on popular music programs such as Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook, Immortal Songs 2, and I’m Live, and his music has been featured on several OSTs for a variety of Korean dramas. He released his first EP, Jackasoul, in September 2013, and most recently, he released his second EP, Absence, in January 2021. In 2022, he participated in the OSTs for dramas Thirty-Nine and Alchemy of Souls.
