Before K-POP was diversified with dance covers, survival shows and Tik Tok challenges, there were many cover artists that paved their own way to success. Chad Future, born David Lehre, became very well known for his many English K-POP covers, and gained a following in the process. He’s worked with many influential K-Pop artists like VIXX‘s Ravi, NU’EST‘s Aron, Ha Sung Woon and many more! Chad’s well produced covers have shown the world an unfiltered English introduction to K-POP minus the language barrier.
Recently Chad released his own cover rendition of BTS‘ ‘Butter‘. The original song by BTS has a bubblegum pop feel and bright sound that is slightly different than their usual style. Chad’s cover, on the other hand, has a refreshed beat that is slightly lower then the original but hits the mark on every level. Throughout the song it’s unmistakable that it’s ‘Butter’ but with a twist that only Chad Future can put on it. His rap-line combined with his smooth vocals give the song a good change in pace making it more cool-toned, and intriguing. A perfect dance bop for the summer.
Since his debut about 10 years ago, Chad Future has made a name for himself in the world of K-POP and shown how versatile he is as a solo artist. In 2012 he became one of very few artists to pioneer the first KCON stage, and the following year made an official debut on M-net’s M Countdown. He has built a strong YouTube following and continues to release covers on his channel. Check out his cool rendition of BTS’ ‘Butter’ and subscribe to his channel for more remixed covers and exclusive features from other renowned K-POP idols such as Megan Lee, Ha Sung Woon, and many more.
