Well, Time Travelers we all know, unfortunatly, that Chad Future has had his detractors. People complaining about him calling the music style he is doing “American K-Pop”. They complain about his lack of the use of Korean in his songs and ridcule his attempts to forge a new path for other artists like himself.
Well I think those detractors might just have to take a back seat on this one and eat their words.
From his debut in 2012 with “Hello” till now Chad continues to work towards his goal of breaking down the barriers and opening doors for other American and non-Asian artists, like himself, into the K-Pop music scene. It has not been an easy path but it is one that Chad has shown that he is not willing to give up on anytime soon.
With the release of his very fist mini album (you can purchase it on iTunes) Chad is one step closer to making his dreams come true. Creating music with the K-Pop flair and influence is something that he is very passionate about and can be seen very clearly in his continued growth.
With the album containing five songs, two of which feature well known Korean idols, Chad is showing the K-Pop music industry that he is not to be taken lightly.
Track List:
01 – Who Am I
02 – Rock The World (Feat. VIXX – Ravi)
03 – Got It Figured Out (Feat. 뉴이스트 Nu’est Aron)
04 – When U Call (Feat. 제이미)
05 – Where It’s At
In case you missed the news and think you are reading that wrong, that is right readers – that is both Ravi from VIXX and Aron from NU’EST featured on Chad Future’s album. It says a lot about where Chad’s music is going to see K-Pop idols featuring on his album. You know their labels had to clear them to participate and while the haters might be lamenting their participation, the boys both seemed very excited to be able to share in Chad’s music.
By now you must be impatient with me and just want to get to the important part, Chad’s new music video! “Got It Figured Out”, the title track off his mini album, is a great summer time jam. Using a brass horns heavy beat and an easy to remember and sing along with chours the song is sure to be on repeat on many a radio. Chad even shows off a little of the Korean he has been learning and Aron really brings just the right amount of the K-Pop feeling to the song with his rapping. The song was produced by Ichiro Suezawa, formally of Double Sidekick (이단옆차기) who has produced songs for such K-Pop groups as B1A4, Sistar and B.A.P. And, of course, the song was co-written by Chad’s good friend Drew Ryan Scott, who has worked with Chad on his previous songs, like “Unstoppable“, and has also worked with such Korean idols as Girls’ Generation, Super Junior and SHINee.
K-Pop fans are so used to hearing their songs in Korean with just a smattering of English or an English heavy chours it is quite refreshing to hear the reverse, and for it to work so well.
